It's Raining It's Pouring

I am not 100% sure about the call on Mother’s Day... we have the family but they also have a missionary out and will be skyping him. They think he will skype around 6pm here or 2pm your time so any time before or after will work perfect. What time is best for you guys? We have the skype stuff and a landline.

We are finding a few new investigators every week. This week we didn`t find as many as last week but we are still doing better than before. We have some people who are more or less progressing. They are except that they didn`t go to church this week, but no one did, haha it was raining really bad and no one wanted to go. Truthfully I didn`t really want to go either but what can you do. Now I know it sounds funny that a little rain is going to stop people from going to church but it is very different here. When it rains the dirt streets become mud and it is very difficult to do anything. There ended up being about ten people at church. I am not excited for all the upcoming cold and rain like last winter. The weather right now switches between nice and cold. It is usually nice during the day and a little cold at night. It hasn`t gotten too cold yet but in the coming month it will start turning to winter. I am not excited for the cold days, freezing nights, and dreaded mornings. Waking up in the morning on those cold winter days is the worst. I also don`t want all the rain... but I did hear that it supposedly doesn`t rain quite as much in Chaco as Formosa.

My new companion doesn`t like playing games... he has yet to play any with us. Elder Taylor and I always play them though. Every once in a while Elder Taylor`s comp will join us. My comp would rather just read PMG more or things like that... I don`t know how he can stand doing only that but more power to him. He does enjoy the food. He said that I was a chef, haha I said nah, I just like to eat good food, haha

Because of the inflation everyone in Argentina has less stuff and sometimes they can`t afford as much meat. There are some things that are really expensive and others that are relatively the same. Eggs are still pretty cheap if you buy them in bulk. I buy thirty eggs for 32 pesos, so that isn`t bad. Also rice isn`t too bad either. Meats, dairy, fruits, and vegetables have all gone up. So we eat less meat with the members and more oil and noodles. Also recently they put this new rule out to ride the colectivo you have to buy a card to pay them. So we all had to buy one of their cards (it only ended up being 12 peso but still) and you have to recharge it when it runs out or you can’t take the colectivo because now they will won’t accept neither bills nor change.

I got the package from Grandma Peterson! It is awesome! It has a list of ten things a missionary should take home from a misson with stuff like beef jerky, mints, peanut m&Ms, dr pepper jelly beans, carmels, etc so you know which one it is. Please tell grandma thank you very much!!!!

We have been trying to work with our bishop recently but it has been kinda hard because he doesn`t want to cooperate. We asked if we could teach the members in the ward how to talk to their freinds so that they feel more comfortable talking to them about the gospel and give us more references. He told us that we couldn`t because they will teach themselves..... It was stupid.

Also the Lugo family who has been inactive since I got here is coming back to church now. They were going to come this week but there was the big rain storm so they will come this week!

I love you guys and can`t wait to hear from you this sunday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
